Karla Padilla-Reyna — Experienced Health Insurance Sales Director

A first-generation immigrant, Karla Padilla-Reyna is the new regional director of sales at Amerigroup, which offers insurance plans tied to Medicare and other government programs. In particular, Karla Padilla-Reyna oversees Medicare Dual Eligible Special Needs Plans. Previously, she handled this type of plan for the Eastern Washington Region of United Healthcare.

Ms. Padilla-Reyna graduated cum laude from Oregon State University, earning a BA in business and working with the Hispanic Student Union. She resumed her formal education with a master’s in business administration from Capella University, again with honors. She is now enrolled in Capella’s PhD in business administration program.

Several years after attaining her first degree, Ms. Padilla-Reyna became the owner of a financial services agency in Yakima, Washington, providing services ranging from annuities and retirement plans to medical care and mortgages. Additionally, she taught business at Yakima Valley College.

Ms. Padilla-Reyna served as the Commissioner of Hispanic Affairs for the state of Washington from 2003 to 2005. An avid animal rights advocate, she enjoy spending time with her family and pets, playing chess, and competing in soccer and softball.
